My Approach
My approach is person-centered and holistic, meaning: I want to partner with you as the expert in your own story, start from where you are, and tailor our time together to your individual needs. I want to hear your perspective and experience and discover together how it informs your current mindset - and determine together whether or not it is working for you. I work from a place of acceptance, without judgment, and I am sensitive to how your cultural identity, lifestyle, sexuality and gender identity impact your experience.
I primarily utilize evidence based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness techniques. I am also trained to be an informed practitioner of Internal Family Systems (IFS). You may note that I graduated from Denver Seminary - and while my degree is from a religious institution, I am licensed in professional counseling, and believe that everyone is entitled to their belief or faith. I am open to working with you no matter what your cultural or religious background, and the decision to discuss either with a counselor is yours alone.
